There was a Swedish set put out in 1970 that had Dryden (playing for the Cdn National team) in his mask, and the 1970 Esso Stamps had it as well.

See here: http://caimages.collectors.com/psaimages/4597/17700640/1970-swedish-masterserien-nno-dryden-psa7.jpg

There was a series of Toronto Star photos from 1964 that could have it as well.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417186274715068618.post-58389926625113995362012-01-16T21:58:04.950-05:002012-01-16T21:58:04.950-05:00I think the main reason Dryden's card was diff...I think the main reason Dryden's card was different than the rest was that he only played those six games before going on a huge run in the playoffs. He wasn't even on the radar at the start of the season and wouldn't have been photographed. They've taken a game shot and cropped out the rest of the action.

As a further little aside, so far as I can tell, this is the first-ever card showing a goalie wearing a mask. (1970 Esso stickers had this, too, but for actual cards, this is it.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417186274715068618.post-67704922692366241142012-01-16T17:44:01.152-05:002012-01-16T17:44:01.152-05:00Love this set, also Dryden's card pose was dif...Love this set, also Dryden's card pose was different from most in the setJohn Batemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14159036395402962119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3417186274715068618.post-82302416952226214972012-01-16T10:11:32.243-05:002012-01-16T10:11:32.243-05:00Great post..and congratulations on 300!!Great post..and congratulations on 300!!Roberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12317401112145746593noreply@blogger.com
